    Care

    Always handle your Panama hat by the brim to avoid distorting the crown.

    Spot-clean using a damp cloth and leave to dry at room temperature. Or alternatively steam from a household kettle and a soft bristle hat brush or clean pencil rubber will help remove dust and dirt.

    Avoid wearing a Panama hat in the rain. Dry with a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge if it gets wet.

    Should your hat shrink in size, a hat jack can be used to stretch it back to its original shape.

    Panama hats are best stored in a hat box, away from direct sunlight.

    Be very gentle with this hat; Regular steams are highly recommended, bring your Lock Panama hat to us for a complimentary steam whilst you wait. We use a specialist steamer to refresh hats. This typically takes five minutes, depending on how busy our shop is.

    Materials

    The Hastings porkpie hat is full of charm and is hand-woven from the finest toquilla palm, using generations-old techniques by artisans in Ecuadorian villages. This porkpie Panama style bears all the hallmarks of a true Lock & Co. hat and is unlined and finished with an internal leather sweatband so that it stays firmly in place.

    Wear this hat at a slight tilt, be very gentle with it, and never pinch the crown.
