Lock & Co.’s Head Millinery Designer, Awon Golding, has launched the 2025 Haute Dogs Calendar in support of the Rushton Dog Rescue, a U.K.-based charity and sanctuary dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at life. Convened by Awon, 12 international milliners, including Lock's own Kimiko Shiga, have come together to design 12 couture hats worn by 12 dogs rescued by Rushton. Now in its seventh year, the annual Haute Dogs Calendar has raised over £100,000 for international dog rescue charities.
Kimiko's hat, worn by Iris the Toy Poodle, is inspired by the Tea Party scene from Alice in Wonderland, merging the fantastical character of the Mad Hatter—who is reputedly based on Lock & Co's shop manager from 1865—with her own Japanese heritage through traditional origami art. Crafted from over 100 origami paper tiles, the hat embodies a blend of whimsy and tradition.
Every Lock & Co. hat purchased is carefully and expertly hand-prepared in our London shop by one of our Hatters, before being whisked out of our famous green front door.
