Care

Always handle your Panama hat by the brim to avoid distorting the crown.

Spot-clean using a damp cloth and leave to dry at room temperature. Or alternatively steam from a household kettle and a soft bristle hat brush or clean pencil rubber will help remove dust and dirt.

Avoid wearing a Panama hat in the rain. Dry with a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge if it gets wet.

Should your hat shrink in size, a hat jack can be used to stretch it back to its original shape.

Panama hats are best stored in a hat box, away from direct sunlight.

Be very gentle with this hat; Regular steams are highly recommended, bring your Lock Panama hat to us for a complimentary steam whilst you wait. We use a specialist steamer to refresh hats. This typically takes five minutes, depending on how busy our shop is.

Materials

The Banbury open weave sun hat is handwoven from the finest toquilla palm straw in Ecuador by craftspeople, using skills passed down for generations. It is a beautiful natural colour.

Styling & Fitting

With its tall dome-shaped crown and wide brim, the Banbury's versatile look is a perfect match for either an elegant outfit for social occasions or for a swimming costume for a day at the pool. This hat is lightweight and packable face up in a suitcase with items stored in the crown of the hat and it even has UPF50 sun protection.

Due to this hat's hand-woven nature, slight variations in size may occur.
